Are steel doors a good choice for residential homes?
Absolutely. Luksus Steel Doors are engineered for seamless installation by general contractors and customizable to match any architectural style. Compared to wooden, fiberglass, PVC, or aluminum doors, our steel doors offer superior security, excellent fire ratings, and enhanced weather resistance—while requiring only occasional paint touch-ups.
Where is Luksus Steel Doors located?
Our office – Corporate – Mailing Address is in San Diego, California. Visits are by appointment only. We welcome phone and online inquiries. You may also send checks, color samples, or hardware for your custom steel door.
Does Luksus have a showroom?
While we don’t operate a traditional showroom, door samples are showcased on our website. Visits are by appointment only, but you’re always welcome to reach out virtually.
What steel gauge is used in Luksus doors?
We primarily use 14-gauge steel frames filled with insulation foam, making our doors thermally insulated and noise-reducing. Depending on the design, internal reinforcements may include 16- or 18-gauge steel, offering exceptional strength and durability.
Where are Luksus Steel Doors manufactured?
Every door is handcrafted at our 4,000 sq. ft. production facility in Tijuana, Mexico—just 20 minutes from the San Diego border. You’re welcome to contact us for an appointment to tour the facility and witness the craftsmanship firsthand.
Is there a warranty?
We guarantee the structural steel integrity for 10 years. While steel doors can last 30–100 years, periodic paint maintenance is recommended. For enhanced durability, consider our stainless steel upgrade options.
Do steel doors rust?
Like all materials, steel can age. However, our doors are treated with Bondo, marine-grade primer, and polyurethane paint for robust rust resistance—even in coastal areas. Regular maintenance further extends their lifespan.
Are your doors single or double pane?
Exterior doors come standard with insulated (dual-pane) tempered glass. Impact-resistant laminated glass is also available for added security and climate control. Single-pane glass is available for interior doors or by special request.
What if the glass breaks?
Though rare, glass replacements can be done by a local professional. Our doors feature an interior-mounted glass holder that can be unscrewed for easy replacement.
Can I reduce lead time and cost?
Yes! For general contractors or time-sensitive projects, we offer doors in paint primer and without glass, along with PDF templates for local glass sourcing. This option can reduce lead time by 3–5 weeks and lower costs without compromising quality.
